- What is SurveyDock?
- SurveyDock is building surveying and reporting software for commercial surveying practices. It covers Reinstatement Cost Assessments and Schedules of Condition today, with Planned Maintenance reporting coming soon.
- Can I export my data?
- Yes, and you do not have to ask us. An admin can export the entire account from Settings in SurveyDock — every assessment, survey, client record, figure and photograph — as CSV for spreadsheets and BI tools and as JSON for anything that needs to load it back in. The format is documented publicly at surveydock.co.uk/docs/data-export, so you can check what you would get before you buy. No export fee, no support ticket, no records held hostage. It is a contractual commitment, not just a feature: clause 7 of the Terms of Service keeps your account reachable for 30 days after you leave so you can still export it.
- What devices does it work on?
- SurveyDock runs in the browser and is mobile-friendly, so it works on iPhone, iPad, Android and desktop with nothing to install. A native iOS app is coming soon.
- How is it priced?
- Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Starter is £59 per user per month for up to 3 users from a single office — a solo surveyor pays just £59. Practice is £399 per month for up to 10 users — under £40 per user for a full team — adding approval on reports and exports, and multiple offices. Enterprise runs from £499 to £999 per month for up to 100 users, the per-user rate falling as the team grows, with custom pricing beyond that. Pricing is per user, not per module: a licence is a seat on the whole platform, and the price is the same whether a practice uses one module or all of them. Every plan includes all SurveyDock Core modules — Reinstatement Cost Assessment (RCA), Schedule of Condition (SoC) and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM). Additional specialist modules (such as Dilapidations, TDD and Compliance) will be available separately.
- Who needs a licence?
- Anyone who surveys or signs off — Surveyors and Directors each use a user licence. Admin-only accounts don't count, and you can have as many of those as you like.
- How is the account secured?
- Every login inside your company is created by your own admins — nobody joins your account without one. Sign-in is throttled on the server against password guessing, passwords are stored only as salted hashes, deactivating a leaver signs them out of every device immediately, and an append-only audit trail records who did what — including sign-ins, blocked sign-in attempts, and every change to who has access. Hosting is in the EU with everything encrypted in transit. - Who can add and remove users?
- Admins, and you can have as many as you like. Only an Admin can create logins, edit people's details or change what anyone can see — surveyors never sign themselves up. Because you can promote anyone to Admin at any time, the account is never tied to one person: if whoever set it up leaves, another Admin carries on, and if they were the only one they can make a colleague an Admin before they go. SurveyDock refuses to let an account be left with no active Admin at all.
- What happens when someone leaves the company?
- An Admin deactivates them from the Users screen. They're signed out of every device immediately and can't sign back in, and they stop counting towards your licensed seats. Nothing they worked on is touched: their name stays on every Reinstatement Cost Assessment, Schedule of Condition and PDF they produced, and you can still filter the lists by them to find that historic work. Deactivating is reversible — if they come back, or it was done by mistake, an Admin can reactivate them in one click.
- Do you support Director sign-off?
- Yes, on the Practice and Enterprise plans. Practices that gate approval get a Director queue, nominated approvers, review comments and a send-back-for-changes flow. Client PDFs stay locked until approval, and any early preview is watermarked DRAFT on every page.
- Can different offices share one account?
- Yes. Offices are built in: staff are assigned to an office, reports can be filtered by office, and when one branch surveys for another the PDF shows both the drafting and issuing office.
- When is the PPM module coming?
- Planned Maintenance is in development and will be included in every plan at no extra charge when it ships. If you'd like early access, get in touch.
